Will You Ride The Sky Train?

Hounslow Council have announced ambitious new plans to ‘re-launch, re-invigorate and revamp’ a part of the Triangle known as the Golden Mile.
This 2.6 mile stretch of road linking Chiswick with the Sky Campus at Osterley was, in its heyday, famous for its glamorous  Art Deco factories like the Firestone and Beecham Buildings.
The ambitious plans includes various new transport links to the emerging Sky campus including a new ‘Sky Train’ connecting to the Waterloo main line, and north to main line at Southall.  There is also a new rail link via Chiswick to Crossrail Station in Acton.  Both schemes run on currently disused railway lines that are already in place.
The new scheme also provides for significant blocks of new office developments which extend the developments underway at Sky, and a new stadium for Brentford Football Club near Chiswick Roundabout.
